Choose the mode#
| Setting | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Digits | On | Make digit keys usable as number bindings and provide usable bindings for otherwise unrecognized typing keys. |
| Console Key | On | Help the key left of 1 open a console configured for Tilde. |
| Physical | Off | Use US-QWERTY key positions for gameplay. |
| Fix Number Row In Editor | On | Correct number-row shortcuts outside Play In Editor. Needs Digits on. |
Open Project Settings → Plugins → Any Keyboard Layout to change the defaults. Physical takes precedence over the other gameplay corrections while active.
Gameplay and text entry#
The selected mode applies in a standalone or packaged game and in a focused Play In Editor game viewport.
Ordinary typing remains unchanged. Physical mode does not move letter shortcuts inside a focused text box or the open console. Text-entry AltGr combinations retain their normal behavior.
Editor behavior#
Outside Play In Editor, only the number row is corrected. Letter shortcuts remain on their labeled keys. Simulate In Editor follows this editor behavior.
Blueprint controls#
Use Set Digits Enabled, Set Console Key Enabled, or Set Physical Enabled to change a switch until the game or editor closes; in the editor, a value set during Play In Editor carries into later sessions until you restart it. The matching Is Enabled nodes report the live state. See Blueprint nodes for every node and pin.
Use Get Keyboard Layout Name to display the active layout and Get Key Display Name (Keyboard Layout) for positional binding labels. On Keyboard Layout Changed tells your UI when to refresh.
Scope#
The plugin corrects normal Windows keyboard input. It does not correct Mac or Linux input, IME-handled keys, Pixel Streaming input, or events supplied by code and widget interactions.
