Open the list#

Select an instanced component and choose Show Instances, or open Tools → Mesh Instances. The header names the component and its mesh; the instance count is beside the filter box.

Select a piece#

Click an instance in the viewport or its row in the panel. Selection follows in both directions. Use Focus or double-click a row to frame a piece.

If clicking does not work, press Enable in the panel or choose Enable Instance Editing from the component's context menu.

Edit the selected instances#

Control Effect
Location / Rotation / Scale Edit a row's values to change that instance. Values are relative to the component.
Add Add an instance at the selected piece, or the component origin when none is selected.
Duplicate Copy the selected instances in place.
Delete Remove selected instances.
Copy / Paste Copy the first selected transform and apply it to other selected instances.
Reset Return selected instances to the component origin with default rotation and scale.

Move a newly added or duplicated piece away from its original position when needed.

Find a distant piece#

Filter by index or location text. Sort by index, or use the Location heading to sort by distance from the component origin. Filtering and sorting change the list view, not the instance numbering.

Know what the gizmo is moving#

While instances are selected, the gizmo moves those instances. Highlight All When Component Selected can select the whole set when the panel is open.

Turn that preference off when you want to avoid automatically selecting every instance. Check the selection before dragging.

Save the edit#

Edits made in a Blueprint can also update placed actors that have not overridden those values. Inspect the intended scope, then compile and save.
