Install and enable#
Use the plugin package for your installed engine version. Supported versions: UE 5.5–5.8.
- Install the plugin using the instructions supplied with your purchase.
- Open your project and go to Edit → Plugins.
- Search for the plugin by name and enable it.
- Restart the editor if prompted.
Open a save#
- Choose Tools → Save Game Inspector.
- Double-click a file in the list, or use Open to choose a .sav file.
- Read the class and Save Data Version in the header.
- Expand the fields and review Issues below the tree.
You can also drag a save file onto the tab. Add Folder includes another location in the list.
Understand the badges#
- file: the file contains this value.
- default: the displayed value comes from the class default.
- edited: you changed this value.
- PIE only: it loads in this editor but may be lost in a packaged game.
The Feature reference lists all eight badges.
Keep Issues on Packaged game when checking what players will receive.
Make a test edit#
Change one field and use Save As to create a separate test file. Compare With lets you compare it with the original.
Before saving over an existing file, review any warning about lost fields or a changed class.
Recover a renamed field#
Select the issue and choose Add Rename Rule.... Then use Migrate to apply it to the open copy and compare the result; use Reload to discard it. Your game must use a Load Game From Slot (Migrated) node for that recovery during play.
Follow Recovering older saves for the complete workflow.
