Choosing a pivot

Set Pivot under Editor Preferences → Plugins → Actor Paste before pasting.

Option Result
First Copied Actor Places the first copied actor at the Blueprint root and keeps the group's relative offsets.
Bounds Centre Centers the combined assembly around the root.
Bounds Bottom Centre Centers the assembly horizontally, with its bottom at the root.
Keep World Coordinates Retains the original level coordinates.

Make a floor-standing prop#

Choose Bounds Bottom Centre, copy the assembly, and paste into a new Actor Blueprint. Check the bottom of the group in the viewport, then place the Blueprint on a test floor.

Use one piece as the anchor#

Choose First Copied Actor when a particular part should sit at the root. Review the result after pasting; do not assume a large level selection has the anchor you intended.

Keep the original location#

Use Keep World Coordinates when preserving coordinates is more important than placing the assembly near the Blueprint root. Content copied from far away can appear far from the root too.

Keep the orientation#

Changing the pivot moves the group without rotating it. Existing rotations and offsets between the pieces remain.

If the result is inconvenient to place, undo the paste, choose a different pivot, and paste again.
