Which engine versions are supported?#
UE 5.5–5.8.
Can the volume move with a Blueprint actor?#
Yes. Add one of the volume components to that actor and size it in the Blueprint viewport.
Which shapes are available?#
Box, sphere, and capsule. A Filtering Physics Volume can also be placed directly in a level.
Does Water Volume create visible water?#
No. It controls swimming behavior. Add the visual surface separately.
Does it affect every physics object?#
It affects actors whose movement uses physics volumes: Characters, Default Pawns, and pawns using pawn movement. Projectiles need Component Should Update Physics Volume on their movement component, and props simulating physics are not affected. Check custom movement in your project rather than assuming it behaves like a Character.
Are the filter tags Gameplay Tags?#
No. Use the actor's ordinary Tags list, or component tags when that option is enabled.
What does an empty Affect Only Listed Actors filter do?#
It affects nothing. Add the classes or tags you want to allow.
Which overlapping volume wins?#
The applicable volume with the highest priority. Give overlapping volumes different priorities.
Can I change it while actors are inside?#
Yes. Use the provided Blueprint setters.
Do entry events run only on the server?#
No. They can fire on clients too. Use Has Authority for authoritative gameplay reactions.
