Install and enable#
Use the plugin package for your installed engine version. Supported versions: UE 5.5–5.8.
- Install the plugin using the instructions supplied with your purchase.
- Open your project and go to Edit → Plugins.
- Search for the plugin by name and enable it.
- Restart the editor if prompted.
Make a swimming area#
- Open an Actor Blueprint.
- Choose Add Component → Physics Volume Box.
- Set Box Extent or resize the box in the viewport.
- Under Physics Volume, enable Water Volume.
- Compile and save the Blueprint.
- Place it in a level and test a swimming-capable Character in Play In Editor.
The wireframe shows the affected space. For a pool, align the box's top edge with the intended water surface. A water volume controls movement; add your own visible water surface separately.
Check the result#
The effect is active during play, not in the Blueprint preview. If nothing happens, confirm Enabled is on and Physics Volume Collision overlaps the Character's channel.
Leave Filter → Mode on Ignore Listed Actors with an empty list for this first test.
Try a low-gravity area#
Add a Physics Volume Sphere, set Gravity Mode to Scale World Gravity, and set Gravity Scale to 0.2. Test it with a Character moving through the sphere.
See Water and gravity for choosing the movement settings.
