On the first launch#
Assets and level actors are available before all Blueprint members are ready. Functions, variables, and comments appear as preparation progresses. Check the popup's status line and continue working while it finishes.
Large projects take longer. Preparation pauses during Play In Editor and some editor operations.
After editing a Blueprint#
Compile the Blueprint after adding or renaming a function or variable, then try the search again. If the asset came from another project or engine version, compile and save it in your current supported editor.
After switching branches or updating content#
Allow the startup check to finish before deciding a result is missing. Confirm that the right project and branch are open, and check folder exclusions.
When two editors open the same project#
The second editor may show assets only. Close the other editor, then restart the editor you want to search from.
If a result stays missing#
Try a plain name without filters, verify the content source is enabled, and compile the owning Blueprint. Follow Troubleshooting if the issue persists.
