Content sources#

Setting When to change it
Include Engine Content Enable when you need engine assets in results.
Include Engine Plugin Content Enable for assets supplied by engine or marketplace plugins.
Include Project Plugin Content Keep enabled when your own content lives in project plugins.
Excluded Paths Hide folders you do not want to search.
Index Comments On by default. Searches comment boxes, node comments, tooltips, and descriptions.

Content source switches also appear in the popup's filter menu. Check the team-wide list in Project Settings → Plugins → Quick Search → Excluded Paths when a folder remains absent despite your personal settings. Your own Excluded Paths list includes /Game/Developers by default.

Result preferences#

Max Results controls how many results the popup shows. Without a filter, each kind of result is limited to a share of the list; use a prefix or chip to see more of one kind. Kind Weights lets you give result types more or less priority; lower the Asset entry if you want functions to compete more strongly.

Correct Typos can help with misspelled names. Retry Other Keyboard Layouts re-reads a search that finds nothing as if typed on your other installed layouts.

Shortcut conflicts#

Sequencer and the Physics Asset Editor have their own Ctrl+T commands, so both are on Shortcut Deny List by default and the Quick Search shortcuts stand down while they have focus. Click another panel first, use the Level Editor's toolbar button or Tools menu, or choose an unused shortcut in Editor Preferences.
